The pour over is one of our favorite brewing methods! It is simple, clean and dependable. Here are a few of our favorite pour over recipes, specific to the Hario V60.
For Light Roast Coffee’s:
- Pre-soak filter; discard water
- Add medium-coarse grounds and tap to level
- Bloom: Add 60g of water in a circular motion (30 sec)
- Add another 50g of water (100g total); full draw down
- Add 125g of water (225g total); full drawn down
- Add 75g of water (300g total); full drawn down. Your pour over should finish around 3:35.
- Remove pour over and dilute with 40g of hot water
- ENJOY!
Pro Tip: Slightly agitate after each pour to settle and level the coffee bed.
For Medium – Dark Roast Coffee’s:
- Pre-soak filter; discard water
- Add medium-coarse grounds and tap to level
- Bloom: Add 60g of water in a circular motion (30 sec)
- Pour to 200g of water in a circular motion by 1:15
- From 1:15 – 1:45 pour to 363g. At 1:45 give slight agitation to settle and level the coffee bed
- Your pour over should finish between 2:30 – 2:45
- ENJOY!
Pro Tip: If water draws down faster, adjust to a finer grind size. If coffee draws down slower, adjust to a coarser grind size.
